Bringing People the Joy of Music
My name is Margaret Escobar. I have a large private studio of piano and violin students in the Urbana-Champaign, IL area.
With many years of experience, my goal is to empower students of all ages to participate in the profound and timeless gift of music.

Teaching Style and Philosophy
Pedagogy
Combining multiple degrees in music and over 25 years of teaching experience, I have developed a teaching system that focuses on giving students the ability to play any piece of music for themselves.
This affords students the ability to apply their skills to a variety of interests and genres. Emphasis is placed on sight-reading ability so that students will be able to play music readily later in life, even when busy.
Students
My studio consists of students that range in age from children as young as 4yo to adult students. I often find my students utilizing principles and concepts learned from music study in areas of life well beyond music.
For some violin students, preparing to participate in school ensembles or the East Central Illinois Youth Orchestra can be a common goal.
Recitals
A highlight for my students (as well as their family and friends) is my regular studio recitals, where students come together to showcase and celebrate their progress and share in the beauty of music-making.
Accompanying substantial receptions allow students to celebrate achievements, make connections with fellow students, and build a music community.
